Belonging in Green Spaces
Your Equality and Diversity Co-coordinators, Luanne Thornton and Rosa Al‑Baldawi, will lead a session on creating genuinely welcoming and inclusive environments across green spaces and events.
The session will explore Accessibility and Inclusivity, key definitions that support the creation of inclusive environments (such as Intersectionality and unconscious bias), the role of Special Interest Groups (SIGs), open‑minded participation, and the value of learning from people with lived experiences.
Participants will also gain a clear understanding of the legal responsibilities that shape inclusive practice, including an accessible overview of the Equality Act 2010 and specifically the Public Sector Equality Duty 2010.
